William J. O’Neil is a well-known stockbroker, investor, and author. He is regarded as one of the first investors to use computers in his research and financial decision-making. O’Neil is also the founder of the prominent investing journal Investor’s Business Daily.

O’Neil is the author of the best-selling books How to Make Money in Stocks and 24 Essential Lessons for Investment Success. In 1963, he launched William O’Neil Co. Inc., which created the first computerized securities database. The CAN SLIM growth investing strategy was developed by William J. O’Neil. In 1984, he launched the Investor’s Business Daily.
